Away Message is an Alexa skill that harnesses the power of human awkwardness to ward off unwanted visitors. Have you ever seen Home Alone? It’s kind of like that.

How does it work?

Activate the skill by saying “Alexa, enable Away mode,” and it will start playing hours and hours of audio to make it sound like someone insufferable is home. To change the track, just say “next.”

Now you can use your Alexa for more than just playing your favorite tunes or setting timers - you can now use it use to ward off unwanted visitors.

Where does it work?

Away Mode works best when you plug it into the main speaker system in your home. This way all your bases are covered.
